Time is a number.
The record gives it context.

For the “direct my care” search that begins with a shift and ends with a question. Read the period, the field and the source.

Overnight duration worksheet

One interval shorter than 24 hours. No service dates, participant details or pay rates. Clock changes, legal break rules and payable hours are outside this worksheet.

Worked example without JavaScript

10:30 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. next day is 465 minutes. Subtract a hypothetical 30-minute break: 435 minutes = 7 hours 15 minutes = 7.25 decimal hours. This does not decide whether a break is unpaid or any time is payable.

Nothing is saved or sent. Read the assumptions and comparison guide before using the result.

Arithmetic stays here.
Official records stay with the program.

The worksheet has no account connection and cannot decide wages, approve a shift or contact a participant. For individual help, use the official state support directory.
