Articles and the local tool work without optional storage. Open cookie settings to review your choice. Policy date: October 18, 2026.
Choose without losing access
Accept optional enables reading-position memory on this device. Reject optional leaves it off. Settings lets you choose it individually. Closing settings without saving does not accept it. Missing, malformed and expired choices default to off.
The footer reopens settings. Without JavaScript, the links open this policy and optional reading-position storage is not used. Previously saved data can also be removed through your browser’s site-data controls.
Storage inventory
Reading-feature storage
- shl_privacy_v1 · first-party cookie
- Records preference version, reading choice and timestamp after a deliberate saved choice. Maximum 180 days, scoped to this website path. A later choice replaces it; browser site-data controls can remove it.
- shl_reading_v1 · localStorage
- Optional article paths, reading positions and timestamps. Initialized only after reading-position consent, including an empty record on non-article pages. Entries at least 180 days old are ignored when read. Expired entries are removed on the next saved reading-position write, where browser access permits; each such write saves at most 30 records. Reading alone does not rewrite localStorage. Rejecting or disabling the option attempts to remove the record. Unused localStorage may remain until a later saved reading-position write, rejection or removal through browser controls.
- Role, stage and focus selections
- Current-page memory only. The question sorter does not persist these inputs; Reset choices removes them from the current page.
Other website technologies
The question sorter and reading controls do not include analytics, advertising tags or third-party media players. Other WordPress plugins, embedded content and hosting services can operate separately. Reading-preference controls govern only the reading feature; they do not control those services or establish a complete inventory of the website.
WordPress sign-in and administration may use separate authentication cookies for signed-in users. These reading controls do not remove authentication cookies, email, server logs or records at linked websites. This list describes reading-feature storage and any additional details the publisher has supplied.
Scope
These controls cover the publication’s reading feature. They are not a universal blocker for hosting logs, technologies added separately or other websites. See the Privacy Policy for website requests and correspondence.
Change or withdraw
Rejecting optional storage stops future reading-position storage and attempts to remove its saved record. A saved choice replaces the earlier one and lasts up to 180 days; your browser may remove it sooner. If the browser blocks storage, the feature reports the limitation and optional behavior stays off.
The choice applies to this browser and website path. Other browsers and devices can differ. Privacy questions can be sent to lisatomas@gmail.com.
